2 women walking up to the House

If you, or someone you know, would like to apply to stay at Wellington Women’s House, all referrals must be submitted online through the referral portal below.

If you are completing the referral for yourself, please provide as much information as possible to help us understand your situation and support needs.

If you are completing the referral on behalf of someone else, we encourage you to complete the form alongside the applicant where possible, and to include as much relevant information as you can.

Our Referral Process
Once a referral has been submitted and the applicant appears to meet our suitability criteria, a staff member will contact the applicant directly for a phone screen Applicants must therefore have access to a working phone number.

During the phone screen we will ask a series of questions to better understand the applicant’s current situation, support needs, and whether the House is the right fit for them.

If the applicant is considered suitable following the phone screening, they will be invited to attend a face-to-face assessment at our office. This gives us the opportunity to discuss their needs in more detail, explain how the House operates, and show them through the property. Assessments generally take between 30–45 minutes.

Please note that referrals are only accepted through the online portal. If you require support to complete the form, or are unable to access it online, please contact us for assistance at [email protected].

If the applicant seems potentially suitable then we will invite them to an assessment at the office, where we can discuss in more detail what they need and show them the house. Assessments take between 30-45 minutes.

If they are accepted they will be expected to pay 2 weeks rent and one week's bond before they can move in. Work and Income may be able to help with this.
