Christmas can be a difficult time for many of our residents, as it often brings additional financial and emotional stress. The pressure of covering extra costs, looking after themselves, or making
the holiday special for their family—especially if they have any children—can feel overwhelming. Some may even find this season to be a triggering time due to past experiences or isolation.
With this in mind, we are committed to making this holiday season a joyful and supportive time for all our current residents and outreach clients in the community through our Christmas Appeal.
Donations will be used to cover various holiday needs, including:
● Christmas Gifts: Providing personalised presents for residents and their children/grandchildren to make them feel valued and remembered during this special time.
● Kai: Offering a festive meal to bring everyone together, alleviating the pressure of preparing a holiday feast.
● Wellness and Self-Care Packages: Many of our residents prioritise their families and often neglect their own well-being. Self-care packages, including items like hygiene products and self care tools, could encourage them to take care of themselves during this busy time.
● Social and Recreational Activities: Organising outings or inhouse events that fosters whanaungatanga, reduces isolation, and offers a chance to create joyful memories during what can otherwise be a difficult period.
The contributions will help us create a holiday season that not only brings smiles but also provides much-needed relief and support to our residents who need it most.
